Pride Academy offer qualifications within the same building as a real working salon, enabling students to gain additional skills and develop confidence on the shop floor so that they are industry ready and competent, sooner.

What students should expect throughout training…

You will have a combination of theory and Practical training; this will include: Workshops covering cutting, colouring, perming, blow-drying, dressing and long hair styling.

As an apprentice your salon will assist with your training. Students have the opportunity to work on ‘real clients’ (models) at Pride academy on training days, enabling you as a student to become successful, have a high level of training and achieve a City and Guilds Level 2 (or 3) Hairdressing certificate.

Individual reviews will take place at least every 12 weeks to ensure you stay on target to complete your NVQ Qualification.

Training at Pride Academy is a rewarding experience, and Pride Academy expects high standards of attendance, Commitment and punctuality. These high standards will ensure you have the skills and knowledge which will prepare you (as a student) for the real world of hairdressing, making you a more employable hairdresser.-


You can expect to develop skills in -

  • Cutting skills - include classic one length cuts, layering and varying defining graduation cuts
  • Colour - include using foils and full head colours etc.
  • Conduct in depth client consultations
  • Perming techniques creating anything from root lift, wave to curls
  • Hair styling techniques including- finger waves, roller setting and pin curls etc.
  • And much, much more!!!
